icon04/07/2010 - 2010-2011 TRYOUT RESULTS

Hi Everyone,

WOW, tryouts were great and people threw a ton of new skills!!  We spent ALL DAY yesterday debating the teams!  I bet we have had 1 million different options and all of them have been great!!  Why we have tried to keep everyone as age and skill appropriate as necessary, we also had to make the teams the most competitive and I feel that we have done that.  Please look at team placements and know that we have done what we think is best.  We will still be evaluating over the next couple of weeks prior to skills camp to make sure that everyone is where they need to be.  Some people still may have the chance to move to other teams!  If you have an (*) by your name, that means that is your main team and you have the option to cross over to another team.  We are VERY excited about the new season, the new talent and the new skills that everyone will get to see!!  Tryouts were great and thank you all for pushing yourselves!!  PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL ATHLETES MUST CONTINUE TO PULL THE SKILLS THAT THEY PULLED AT TRYOUTS!!!  YOU WILL BE BACKED OFF OF HIGHER LEVEL TEAMS IF NOT. If I accidentally left your name off, PLEASE email me right away!!!  If you have Any questions, please EMAIL me.  I still have a ton of scheduling to do today.  Also, please know that we have done what is best for ALL!!!!

icon01/23/2010 - WOO-HOO, what a day with CHAMPION in Raleigh!!

Great day at the Dorton Arena.  What we thought was going to be a small day, turned out to be a wonderful one.  Not only did we have several 1st place finishes, but we got 2 specialty banners and 2 full-paid bids to different championships.  Recaps below!!

MINI SIZZLE:  WOW, you guys continue to shock us!  1st place out of 3 teams.  You all competed with such confidence and the judges comments were wonderful.  You continue to get better and better and I know there are going to be many 1st places for you the rest of the season!  I am sticking to my promise, and Tuesday we will be making ice cream sundaes at the 1st of practice!!!  SO, SO PROUD OF YOU!

YOUTH FLARE:  I can only imagine how close to first you must have been.  2nd place out of 6 is still something to be so excited about, especially since we added 5 new kids to the team and only had a couple of practices together.  To hit that routine like you all did made my day.  You struggled at our last practice Friday and you came out like true champs yesterday.  Watch out the rest of the season everyone, YOUTH FLARE IS ON FIRE now!!

SENIOR BLAZE:  1st place and great job!  Although there was no one in your division, you still gave it your all.  We had a couple of boo-boos, but everyone has one of those days every now and then.  You guys still come out there with such enthusiasm and that is wonderful to see.  1st place is yours to have for the remainder of the season!

SENIOR INFERNO:  1st place and wonderful job!!!!  Again, we knew going in that there was going to be no one in your division but we told you guys to perform like there were a ton.  We had a few drops in our first stunt, but you blew us away with the rest of your routine.  During awards this team also got a full-paid bid to Champion's Grande Finale in April.  As if that wasn't enough, after the competition, they called Senior Inferno back to the floor and gave us a full-paid bid to the International All-Levels Championship in Atlantic City!!  SO, SO PROUD and to see the excitement on all your faces just made the best ending to a wonderful day.  HOT is not the word for you guys!

In addition to the wonderful placings above, Senior Inferno also got best Stunt/Pyramid of the day and CheerZone got best Tumbling of the day!  Those meant so much because we have worked so hard to perfect these two areas.  It just goes to show that hard work definitely pays off!!  Thanks so much for everyone's hard work and dedication and let's end this season with all 1st place finishes!!!!!

PARENTS:  The decision on Most Spirited had to be so hard because you all were phenominal!!!!!  You bring more and more to every competition and we the coaches and all the kids are so lucky to have YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  You complete the wonderful package at CheerZone.  What a BLESSED organization we are!!!!

Now, back to the gym for more hard work and routine perfecting and I can't wait!!  Great job to all!

icon01/18/2010 - 2010 SPIRIT OF HOPE NATIONALS!!

Wow, what a weekend!!!  I could not be more proud of you guys than I was on both Saturday and Sunday!

MINI SIZZLE - 2nd out of 6 teams!! Unbelievable and you guys were less than 1 pt from that National Championship title!!  You are a group of amazing athletes and have come so far this season!  Can't wait to see you guys get that National banner at the next comp!

YOUTH FLARE - 3rd out of 6 teams!!  Youth 2 is a very difficult division and you guys are so young in that division!  You hung with the best out there and you truly made yourselves and us proud!

SENIOR BLAZE - 5th out of 5 teams!  I am still not sure what happened here because you guys were STUNNING!  Your excitement and your showmanship were unbelievable!!  You deserved so much more and I know that you will get it soon!!  Keep working and doing what you are doing and 1st place is surely yours to have!  So proud of you all.  You competed against a lot of teams that have 1/2 of their level 5 team competing on level 2 and you still looked just as good as they did!!!

SENIOR INFERNO - 3rd out of 5 teams!  You ALMOST had that title.  After day 1, you were only 1 pt from 1st place.  You competed against some amazing talent and you were top 3 and we couldn't ask for more.  Winning is wonderful, but seeing how you guys worked together and loved one another this weekend was all that we needed.  We were champions for that reason alone!

Overall, MINI SIZZLE, YOUTH FLARE, SENIOR BLAZE AND SENIOR INFERNO all "brought the heat" this weekend and showed everyone that you are some of the best talent around.  Parents, you were wonderful and your support was fantastic this weekend.  We are so lucky to have what we have at CheerZone and it is all because EVERYONE makes it so special!  GO CHEERZONE, LOVE YOU ALL!!!
